Business meeting etiquette

This three hour workshop helps you to make every business meeting a success. Breakfast, lunch or dinner? Doing business over meals is a ritual that has existed for centuries but too many people jeopardize an opportunity because every networking event has its individual dynamics, benefits and drawbacks. The act of “breaking bread” with another person is a powerful relationship-building vehicle. Many business meetings are arranged over breakfast, lunch or dinner. You learn how to maximize your investment by considering the audience, objectives and plans for each networking scenario. How do you start a breakfast networking function as opposed to a luncheon or dinner function? What are the key success factors for each scenario? What are the basic rules to make the experience pleasurable and profitable? Participants learn what is expected of them as well as the facilitator’s responsibilities. You develop a checklist for your personal assistant. We explore the Business Meetings Basics, Business Meetings Rules, Participant’s Responsibilities—all meetings, what to do if you are the speaker and we conclude with cell phone etiquette.

Clients may request to incorporate protocol in the meeting & boardroom, guidelines for planning a meeting, guidelines for attending a meeting, guidelines for the chairperson.

Building a Referral-Based Business

The act of referring you to others is validation of your value. At the point you walk in to meet the potential client, the relationship is half-formed and the engagement is half-sold. Referrals are your highest ROI marketing strategy: there is no or low cost attached to this type of marketing. Referrals generate the highest-quality clients and engagements. However, a referral is not a guaranteed sale; it’s the opportunity to do business with someone to whom you have been recommended.

Personal Branding

If you don''t brand yourself, you can rest assured that others are branding you. And letting others brand you can be risky business. Your "brand" is who you are and what you stand for. It starts at the way you look and sound...and includes things like your temperament and your leadership abilities. Bottom line: We are all CEOs of our own company called "Me, Inc." And to be in business today, our most important job is to be head marketer for our brand.
